3D in-cabin monitoring with a 2D camera?! Neonode’s AI software for next-level machine vision

ipXchange had a few encounters with Neonode in 2023, so catching up with their team at CES 2024 was a must, and what a demo they had on show!

In the first of two interviews, Guy chats with Per about Neonode’s hardware-agnostic software platform that enables high-quality, 3D machine perception using commodity 2D camera systems.

Thanks to the vast range of trained models, this software can easily determine the position of drivers and passengers in a car, for example, with full-body gesture recognition, drowsiness detection, and more. It is this functionality that makes Neonode’s technology such a scalable solution for new European automotive safety standards, and it is therefore well worth a look – all puns intended.
