Описание к видео Mat Pilates - Intermediate to Super Advanced Exercise - Shoulder Bridge

Shoulder Bridge is an intermediate to super advanced Mat Pilates exercise. One needs a lot of flexibility in the spine in order to do a back extension along with a lot of strength in the upper body, again plugging the shoulders back and down, collar is wide and there should be no tension in the head, neck and or shoulders.

The pelvis is challenged even more because the hands are now placed on the sides of the waist instead of underneath the low back (reference Scissors and Bicycle YouTube short).

The purpose is to strengthen the entire back from the spinal extensors, glutes, and hamstrings, increase core control and increase overall flexibility in the spine.

Think about creating a nice long waist and not allowing the hips to dip.

For optimum form, really engage the abdominals to keep the weight out of the hands and only lift the leg as high without disturbing the torso.

👂 IMAGERY AND CUEING

Keep the hips leveled as the legs move

Think energy shooting out through the waist and back of the legs

Do not roll on the neck

Keep pressing the hips up as if the hips are yawning

🕵️ MODIFICATIONS

Try a normal Bridge exercise without the back extension by keeping the arms long and on the mat.

🔥 PRECAUTIONS

For any upper and or lower body injuries AND or osteoporosis - try just a normal back bridge with keeping the arms on the mat and not on the sides of the hips.
