Shawn Colvin's network television debut occurred on Late Night, February 6, 1990 (uploaded here:    • Shawn Colvin, "Steady On," on Letterm...  ). Thirteen days later she appeared on "Night Music, here performing "Another Long One" from her debut LP, "Steady On."

Backing her is the Night Music house band: David Sanborn, saxophone; Phillipe Saisse, keyboard and percussion; Hiram Bullock, guitar; Tom Barney, bass; Don Alias, percussion; and Omar Hakim, drums.
