This is the first video of a new series that I'm calling "Making The Meta." In this series we'll experiment with with non-meta loadouts and weapons in The Division 2. I've always enjoyed using non-meta weapons in games like Destiny, COD Blackout, and in The Division as well. Hopefully, this series inspires you to make your own meta and to find unique playstyles which you may have overlooked.

Today, we're trying out the Liberty exotic pistol. The build is made up of 2 pieces from the Providence Defense set, 1 Grupo Sombra, 1 Walker Harris, 1 D & H, and the Memento exotic backpack. This is a DPS focused build so try to get max weapon damage on every piece, and stack critical hit chance and critical hit damage as much as possible.

The Liberty's base damage in this build is 536,000, and after getting the damage buffs from the Liberty's talent and from the Memento, then the gun's damage is boosted up to 672,000. I tested the Liberty's damage against my M1A and rifle build, and they were surprisingly close to each other.

The drawback to using the Liberty is the poor recoil and accuracy. Even at close range it can be tough to hit shots consistently due to the gun's random horizontal recoil. I feel like this gun is best used with a shield so you can push enemies and get within the gun's optimal range. It's a fun loadout and definitely has meme potential but I don't see it being competitive in the most difficult content in the game, unless you're focused on being a tank. With that being said, you can definitely use it in end game content but it's outclassed by any well-made SMG or AR build.
