English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC), Ministry of Education (MoE) invites everyone to join our webinar entitled “Elevate Your English Language Proficiency: Unlock Your CEFR C2 Potential”. We'll explore some great tips and strategies for English language enthusiasts to boost their language skills and reach that coveted C2 level. Let's make the language-learning journey enjoyable and successful together!

The distinguished speakers are as follows:

1. Dr. Shamsul Nizam bin Kachi Mohideen is an experienced English Language educator with nearly 25 years of experience, having taught in both rural and boarding schools in Sabah and Selangor. He holds a First-Class Honours' degree in TESOL from Edinburgh University, Scotland, twinning with Maktab Perguruan Ilmu Khas, Kuala Lumpur. Dr. Shamsul continued his education with a post-graduate degree in M.Ed TESL from the University Malaya in 2003 and earned his Doctoral Degree in 2014 from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. Currently, he serves as a Principal Assistant Director at the Ministry of Education Malaysia, overseeing international linkages for all 28 campuses of Teacher Training Institutes across the country.

2. Mr. Vijayan Periasamy, a lecturer and trainer at IPGKTHO in Johor, holds a B.Ed (Hons.) in TESOL from the University of Southampton, U.K., and a Master’s in Public Administration (Educational Policy Planning) from the University of Malaya. With 21 years of teaching experience, he covers diverse subjects, including Linguistics, Psycho-Sociolinguistics, Literature in English, Principles of ELT, ELT Methodology, Phonetics, and Phonology. He also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Trainer Development (ELT) from the University College Plymouth St. Mark & St. John, U.K. Beyond teaching, Mr. Vijayan actively contributes to module development and offers pro bono consultation to non-governmental organizations in his field.

3. Mr. Neil Obrien anak Joseph, an Academic Lecturer at IPGKTAR in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, has a decade of dedicated service and a robust educational background. He obtained his B.Ed TESOL from the University of Otago, New Zealand, in 2021, and followed it with an MA TESOL from Victoria University of Wellington in 2022. With experience in primary schools and District Education Offices, including roles as FasiLINUS Bahasa Inggeris and District English Language Officer (DELO) in Saratok, he has extensive experience managing English language-related activities.
