Iran informed US of "limited" attacks on Israel, its foreign minister says

On Sunday, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, said, "We announced to the White House in a message this morning that our operations will be limited and minimal, with the aim of legitimate defence and punishment of the Israeli regime."

He added that Iran had notified its neighbours of its retaliatory strikes on Israel 72 hours in advance and that the attacks were against an escalation of tension in the region.

The attack, which involved hundreds of missiles and drones mostly launched from inside Iran, caused only modest damage in Israel as most were shot down with the help of the U.S., Britain, and Jordan.
