This afternoon, Matt Godden’s goal was enough to end Blues’ undefeated start to the season.

It was a frustrating day down at the Valley for the visitors who never really got off the mark to trouble the Addicks.

The home side had a handful of opportunities that went begging.

One being an open net for Daniel Kanu to simply roll in but missed.

Blues were being let off the hook time and time again but it eventually caught up with us.

Charlton took the lead nine minutes into the second half and remained in control until the referee’s final whistle.

A difficult game for Chris Davies’ side but one we’ll hopefully bounce back from.

Onto Shrewsbury in the cup…
