The moment you hear an attorney say that his area of law is “so complex and difficult” ask him what's so difficult about it.

The moment an attorney tells you how hard his area of law is, ask him “Aren't you the expert? Shouldn't it be easy for you since you know this?”

Like with anything, if you don't know how it works, it can seem daunting and confusing. However, an attorney who handles these types of matters on a daily basis and has been doing it for many years should have absolutely no problem handling your type of case.

An attorney who tells you in a marketing message that his area of law is so difficult and complex, tells me that they may have difficulty distilling those complex terms into easy-to-understand language that everyone can understand.

It's like when a doctor describes something in medical terms that you have never heard of. It sounds Greek. It sounds foreign. It sounds horrible.

The reality is that it could be something so simple and easy but the person who's explaining it has chosen to use big fancy words instead of simple easy-to-understand concepts and terms.

While it is true that there are many areas of law that have nuances and complexities and clearly some types of cases are more difficult to handle than others, an attorney who's been doing legal work for any significant amount of time does not need to explain how difficult and complex their job is. That, in my opinion, achieves nothing.

A better approach would be to simply explain to you, the viewer, exactly how your type of case works.

When you are searching for the right attorney to handle your legal problem, you want to see that the attorney has knowledge, expertise and confidence in what they do daily.

If they continue to telling you about how difficult these cases are, you begin to question and wonder whether the attorney has the knowledge and experience necessary to competently handle such a case. Maybe they can. Maybe they can't.

The problem is, from their marketing message, you are having a hard time distilling whether they really can.

The other reality is that if this was really easy to do, you wouldn't need an attorney to do it. Instead, you could probably do it on your own. That's why you look for an experienced attorney to help you solve your legal problem. You expect that lawyer to be knowledgeable and to know what to do, regardless of how difficult or complex that area of law is.
