The hill town of Fort Munro, originally known as Loilaresir and Anari Mool in Balochi, is situated 6,470 feet (1,970 m) above sea level in the D. G. Khan District of Punjab, Pakistan.A portion of the Sulaiman mountain range is Fort Munro. It was developed by the British as a summer hill town in the late 19th century. named for Colonel Munro, the commissioner of the Multan Division (later Major-General).
During the sweltering summer, it draws lots of visitors for brief stays. It is located in the Sulaiman Mountain range, 85 kilometres from Dera Ghazi Khan city in Punjab, Pakistan, and 185 kilometres from Multan. The Leghari tribe, in particular, makes up the majority of the nomads in Fort Munro.
Every year, it draws a sizable number of tourists, especially those looking to get away from the scorching plains of southern Punjab and enjoy some temperate weather for a day or two. In an effort to transform the hill town into a significant tourist destination, the Punjab Government granted more than Rs 2 billion in July 2015 for the construction of basic amenities there. A cadet college and six new carpeted roads totaling Rs. 1.60 billion will be built, along with a chairlift and cable car facility between Fort Munro and Khar that will cost Rs. 750 million to install, Rs. 300 million to provide clean drinking water, Rs. 300 million to build a wastewater treatment and drainage system, and Rs. 300 million to provide clean drinking water.
