Comment by Swami Kriyananda: “This song is inspired by the life of Saint Francis. It’s sung by the monks and nuns when they began gathering around him. It’s based on a prayer traditionally ascribed to Saint Francis, “Make Us Instruments of Thy Peace”. But I read in Italy, just very recently, that it’s believed that St. Francis didn’t write this prayer. In fact, the authorship is ascribed to William the Norman. Very interesting.”
