Car Free Morning with passenger on cargo bike

Описание к видео Car Free Morning with passenger on cargo bike

Watch me bring along friend on my electric cargo bike for "KL Car Free Morning". A wonderful 11 km ride in on the car free streets of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I used a small bean bag to make a back-rest on my Omnium cargo bike, and it worked perfectly for my passenger, both giving good back support as well as maintaining free space around the handlebar for steering.

In the video, we do the full 7 km circuit that is cordoned off for car-free morning. And we do a few of the road loops twice, like going past the Petronas Twin Towers to take photos.

KL Car-Free Morning has been in place for several several years. It is a monthly car-free movement held on every first and third Sunday of every month from 7 - 9 am. It is a great initiative, as it allows the residents to experience how nice the city can be without the noise, air pollution and congestion from cars. And it will hopefully help lead to the next step: Implementing a comprehensive masterplan for pedestrians and bicyclists that makes non-motorized commuting safe.

Video highlight:

18:57 man with stroller and baby strapped on his chest delivers a hard kick to a car that had encroached in the car-free zone. The driver stops, and not sure what happened from there..... But it was definitely a case of road rage, or rather, pedestrian rage!

Enjoy the ride :-)

PS. Video filmed with GoPro Hero 4 on chest strap and using stabilizer

PPS. Playing some free "uplifting" music from Vibe Tracks (youtube music library) to drown out our conversation during the ride :-)
