Thodari Movie Review

Yet another outstanding movie makes its presence into Kollywood with Dhanush starrer Thodari. Set in the background of a moving train, the movie could remind one about the Chaiyya Chaiyya song from the film Uriyai.

Starring Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh in the lead, Thodari is a romantic thriller. Directed by Prabhu Solomon, the flick seems to be promising.

After making a name for himself through Mynaa and Kumki, Prabhu Solomon has come out with Thodari as a bold attempt. The filmmaker has edged out of his comfort zone to provide viewers some engaging and gripping tale.

Anything is scalable for National award winning actor Dhanush, who in Thodari plays the role of a pantry boy named Poochiappan. He has done all things with exception be in acting, dance or fight sequences. Some of the scenes shot over the train is both daring and challenging. Keerthy Suresh has matched her character well. Her role as a make-up artist seems to have suited her. Her presence can be felt throughout the film.

The story is pretty slow in the first half, but it picks up as the train gains speed. Several twists and turns, are untangled by the pantry boy, that are not normally in his control.

Harish Uthaman in a negative role has excelled in his character. Karunakaran, Thambi Ramaiah, Ganesh Venkatraman and others in the supporting cast has done their part exceptional well.

In the hands of Vetrivel Mahendran, the cinematographer of the flick, the movie is a visual treat. The camera angles have managed to give the entire movie a good relief, rather than see the same train with boring colors. Editing by LVK Doss is crisp.

Music and background score by D Imman is par excellence. The composer has manged to bring out love, romance and thrill in every beat. Although there are some loopholes in the script, overall the movie has managed to be an engaging drama.
