A theme that comes up regularly in our discussions in the Training Designers Club, is how to stealthily design training that trains managers, when they don't THINK they need the training.

If you've been in L&D for any length of time, I'm sure you've come across it: We need our front-line staff/first-line managers to attend a training course and get all this training, and when you roll it out, the people on the courses say "My manager could do with this too!"

But being a trainer sometimes requires diplomatic skills as well as design and facilitation skills.
