This leg of the America's Great Loop takes us through the Peterborough Lift Lock, a unique lock that works like an elevator lifting (or lowering) boats 65' in about 90 seconds. We were also honored to have one of the Trent-Severn Lock Operators aboard. Pat from Lock 18 in Hastings had not been through a lock before, so he hopped aboard and cruised with us through the Lift Lock and a few others.

America's Great Loop is a 6,000-mile boating adventure taking Loopers up the U.S. east coast, up the Hudson River, into the New York and Canadian Canals, through the Great Lakes, down the inland rivers, and through the Gulf of Mexico. Most take about a year to complete the route aboard their own boats.
