Queensland has officially shut its border to all of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

All Queenslanders who missed the 1am deadline to return to the Sunshine State will now have to spend two weeks in hotel quarantine at their own expense.

A travel bubble remains in place for residents who live and work in border towns, but they require the appropriate border passes.

Anyone caught falsifying information on border declaration passes faces fines ranging from $4,000 to $13,000 and even jail time.

Meanwhile in New South Wales, several more Sydney venues have been forced to temporarily close for deep cleaning including the Bonnyrigg Plaza Shopping Centre and the Tangara School for Girls in Sydney.

NSW recorded 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, 10 of which were linked to known outbreaks and one which is still under investigation.
