The first proper song on the Journey EP -- and what an amazing opener it is. IRyS & company bring their A game; that synth line leading up to the guitar solo is just 🤘🤘🤘. (IRyS also seems to be doing James Hetfield impression in the pre-chorus, lol.)

For this remix, I wanted to try a subgenre I haven't done before, like I said I'd do at the start of the year. I had one in mind that seemed to be completely foreign to me: metalcore. I started listening up on bands like Trivium, Killswitch Engage, and most notably Avenged Sevenfold, and that was when I realized something: this sounds a lot like some of my own music. A lot. Like, I'm pretty sure my Hinotori and Usseewa remixes could be lumped in there. It's no suprise that those bands would be right up my alley. (To be clear, I'm talking about 2nd-wave metalcore; the earlier, more punk-oriented stuff I'm not as familiar with.)

(Edit 20/3/2022: So it turns out i might’ve accidentally ripped off that opening riff from Caught In A Mosh… whoops.)
