Walking in the nature is healing, and Portugal countryside can offer the best experiences ever - living in the countryside is one of the best things in life.
This walking tour explores one of the many medieval trails in the Marvão region of Alentejo, Portugal. It was originally used to travel between the villages of Galegos (Portugal) and La Fontañera (Spain), but in the 20th century it served as a way to smuggle coffee into Spain during the Portuguese dictatorship (1933-1974). The smugglers would bring back money and banned products in Portugal such as Coca-Cola.More info on this smuggling route below the route timestamps.
We start our Zen Walk in the outskirts of the village of Galegos, in the region of Marvão - Alentejo, and start walking towards the Spanish village of La Fontañera, where the Portuguese smugglers would sell their sacks of coffee. After a short walk in the Spanish side of the boarder, we will then reenter Portugal and go inside the house where the smugglers would wait for a clear way into Spain, evading the police.
We will then walk on a medieval trail - one of the many medieval stoned trails that can still be found in the region of Marvão.

---- Route of the Coffee Smuggling ----
---- Trilho do Contrabando do Café ----
During the Portuguese dictatorship (1933-1974), the coffee produced in Portugal could not be sold in Spain and, therefore, it was ruled that any attempt to sell it there would be punished with prison sentences.
For those who made their living from selling coffee, they found a way of smuggling it into the neighbouring country, escaping the close watch of the guards and carabinieri that patrolled the border.
From Marvão and the neighbouring villages, where at the time there were half a dozen roasting plants in activity, groups of brave men would set off at night in the direction of La Fontañera with sacks of raw coffee on their backs. From Spain, they brought money and all sorts of products that could be sold in the villages - cloth, porcelain and even Coca-Cola, prohibited in Portugal during the dictatorship, up until 1974.

Now it's the time we put in some keywords such as POV, virtual tour or the best virtual tours, that are part of the description of this video. This relaxing trail video is perfect for treadmill, but also perfect for relaxation and sleep. In fact, if you're on a treadmill, you may enjoy a relaxing feeling at the same time, although it's not desirable that a treadmill trail video can cause a deep sleep state by listening to the ASMR audio. The footsteps, in asmr, will be around you in 360 degrees, creating a very deep immersive experience. It's pure ASMR 3D audio, and the video is in 4K and filmed at 60fps, or 60 frames per second. The relaxing walking pace makes this treadmill video a relaxing experience, almost like a meditation. A good virtual treadmill walk is great for virtual walking exercise.
