Prišiel som, videl som, letel som. S týmto heslom sa po svete poflakujem už celkom dlhý čas. Do tejto kategórie výčinov patria aj kombinované horolezecko-paraglidové podujatia aké som podnikol už v Antarktíde a v severoamerickej Arktíde, s plánom uskutočniť prvovýstup na panenskú horu, či vytýčiť novú cestu a zletieť dolu na každom kontinente sveta. Po viacerých rokoch som cítil, že je čas na ďalší kontinent. Celú zimu som sa pripravoval v severkách Álp...
Na túto výpravu, ktorej cieľom bolo vystúpiť na panenský vrchol Chumbu a ktorej súčasťou boli zvučné české mená sme mali vyraziť v máji, no nakoniec sme vyrazili až v októbri. Chalani vystúpili na vrchol s dobrou náladou a vrcholové počasie umožňovalo odlet....akurát ja som tam chýbal...
Na Slovensko som sa vrátil zbičovaný telesne i duševne. Prišiel som o kondičku, kopec peňazí, videl som stále houby kulový a doktori mi povedali, že mesiac a pol nesmiem vykazovať fyzickú námahu. Zbitý ako pes, v žalostne depresívnom stave letargie, bez možnosti adrenalínovej vzpruhy, v malomyseľnosti a pocitom zbytočnosti, s nechuťou vôbec žiť, neschopný zaspať som sa tým novembrom pretĺkol...vyrovnať sa s tým, že nielen expedícia v keli, ale možno celú zimu stratím kvôli rekonvalescencii, no poviem pravdu, nebol to med lízať.
Prišiel som o jedinečnú šancu pridať ďalší kopec jedným bodnutím komára, ktorý sa v Nepále nikdy predtým nevyskytoval. A čo viac, prišiel som o kopec krásnych a veselých dní v ťažkých podmienkach panenskej hory s výbornou partiou Čehúňov. Normálne som pri nich začal rozmýšľať nad tým, že možno nie som až taký introvert. Taká s nimi bola prdel...
Bola to ťažká skúška a naozaj veľká porážka. Ale stál by život bez skúšok za žitie?

We were supposed to go on this expedition, the goal of which was to climb the virgin peak of Chumbu and which included famous Czech names, in May, but in the end we didn't go until October. The guys climbed to the summit in a good mood, and the peak weather made it possible to take off....only I was missing...
I returned to Slovakia beaten physically and mentally. I lost my fitness, a lot of money, my vision was foggy and full of psychadelic colours, because of bleeding and the doctors told me that I must not show any psysical effort for a month and a half. Beaten like a dog, in a pitiful depressed state of lethargy, without an adrenaline boost ace, low-minded and feeling useless, with no desire to live at all, unable to sleep, I fought my way through that November... to cope with the fact that not only the expedition for me was lost, but maybe the whole winter I will lose due to recovery, but I will tell the truth, it was not a honey lick.
I missed a unique chance to add another peak because one mosquito bite, never seen that Dengue fever before in Nepal. What's more, I lost a lot of beautiful and happy days in the difficult conditions of a virgin mountain with an excellent group of Czechs. With them, I started thinking that maybe I'm not that much introverted.
It was a tough test and a really big defeat. But would a life without trials be worth living?
