A hot afternoon in Brixton and everyone is managing to stay calm and carry on despite the best efforts of Lambeth Council and Councillor Claire Holland, who’s reported as saying that this masterful LTN is based on 20 years of road data. I guess that’s why they’ve decided to put all the traffic on to one narrow road that’s also the main cycling and walking route between Clapham and Brixton. (The roads around here that they’ve isolated are now devoid of cars as well as pedestrians and cyclists). Supporters of the LTN said that the problems will diminish as satnavs update. I say that traffic is increasing and will get worse with school runs, winter and the return to normality post Covid. It would be nice if, even at this late stage, the council started to talk to the people who actually live here.
