Lionel 700e & 1-700e Double Headed Hudson with Prewar 716 Hoppers & 717 Caboose. San Diego 3-Railers

Rather than sit on a shelf, I decided to run my prized collector grade 700e from 1938. Later in this video is a double headed 700e and 1-700e (6-18005) from 1990. I hope that I made Joshua Lionel Cowen and Richard Kughn proud. The 1-700e came with a display case and a NMRA scale rear coupler (to be used with display). The 700e & 1-700e Hudson's and all 1940/42 prewar semi scale cars use the same Lionel NMRA scale couplers. Both Hudson's and rolling stock coupled right up without issue. I have the sound turned off on the 1-700e Hudson while running with the 700e.

The 1938 Hudson and 1940/42 semi scale cars were designed to be run on Lionel prewar "T-Rail" track. The San Diego 3-Railers Club uses Atlas O track and the entire train tracked beautifully. It was really fun running the Hudson's in a lash-up. After this run, my 700e will go back to resting on her display track. Thank you for watching, I hope you enjoy...
