Tactical Fighter Experiment (TFX): Roland MT-32 Soundtrack

Описание к видео Tactical Fighter Experiment (TFX): Roland MT-32 Soundtrack

Welcome to another full soundtrack video. This time, it's going to be the full soundtrack of a combat flight simulator developed in 1993 called Tactical Fighter Experiment or TFX. As the name suggests, this is the soundtrack taken from a Roland MT-32 port downloaded from the internet, not from an actual MT-32. TFX was a realistic combat flight simulator developed by a now defunct British company called Digital Image Design. The soundtrack was compossed by a Scottish music artist working for Ocean Software (the publishers) at the time named Barry Leitch. The soundtrack was considered to be one of the most greatest soundtracks ever for a flight simulator. The soundtrack wasn't the only feature that made TFX well known. The game had 3D polygon graphics that were unique at the time. So unique that it caught the attention of both the Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force.

As for Digital Image Design, the developers, moved on to create more flight sims in the following years. Digital Image Design was founded in 1989 by Martin Kenwright and Phillip Allsopp in 1989 and was originally based in Runcorn, Cheshire in England. Their first game and flight sim was F-29 Retaliator released in the same year. In 1993, they released their second flight sim, Tactical Fighter Experiment, in 1993. They moved on to creating EF-2000 in 95, F-22 Air Dominance Fighter (F-22 ADF) in 97, F-22 Total Air War (F-22 TAW) in 98, and their last game and flight sim ever made: Eurofighter Typhoon.
