Flying the V-Tail E-20 Glider

Описание к видео Flying the V-Tail E-20 Glider

Simplicity in action. This films shows flights by the electric free-flight V-Tail E-20 glider, built and flown by Malav Shah, who shares these comments: "Influenced by the Tip Launch Glider (TLG) designs, E-20 models were created. This model is loosely based on Bruce Kimball's Hoosier Baby Daddy 24 TLG (plan link below). The pusher configuration was best suited for the V-Tail model. The pop-up boom DT, though suffering a bit of weight penalty, is highly dependable even in the strongest thermals, giving it a slow, predictable descent. The straight boom pop-up on grass makes it easy to locate the model on the ground...it almost shouts out, "Here I am!!". Finding a dependable DT in the strongest thermals, coupled with a soft landing, ease to locate the model on the ground, and more importantly replicating the slow TLG glide, were the main goals of this experiment. The loud motor sound in the climb phase is typical of a pusher configuration and not because of a very powerful 8520 coreless motor."

Filmed by Tom Hallman using a Canon PowerShot SX20, and iPhones 11Pro & 14Pro.
