Ingredients: (Makes 18)
Maida / All purpose flour – 3 cup
Egg - 2
Sugar – 1 cup (Powdered)
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Butter – ½ cup / 8 tbsp / 113g (Softened)
Strawberry jam

Steps:
Combine maida and baking powder. Set aside.

In another bowl, mix egg, sugar and vanilla essence.
Add butter.
Add maida mixture in batches and mix well with hands to form a soft dough.
Pinch small portions and roll it between your palm to form a smooth ball.
Press it between your palms and flatten it out to a small circle.
Smoothen the edges. With your index finger, make a small hole in the centre.

Make markings with the tip of a spoon.
Place it on a cookie tray lined with butter paper.
Repeat for the rest of the dough and arrange them on the tray with an inch distance between them.
Bake at 350°F / 170°C in a preheated oven for 23 minutes or till the bottom turns golden in the middle rack.
Once done, place some jam in the hole in the centre.
Let it cool completely.
Enjoy the biscuits.
