Hiking & packrafting the Björkö-Panike Trail

Last weekend I went hiking and packrafting on the Björkö Panike Trail in the Kvarken Archipelago. Nothing but wind, water and birds - and some sheep on my island! - could be heard, and I didn't see a soul along the whole trip.

A Packraft is ideal for this short trail, as otherwise you need to organize boat transport twice. There's a bit of infrastructure along the trail, too, and especially the trail which starts in Svedjehamn is well maintained and probably sees quite a few hikers. Once you're on the Slåttskkäret island you likely will be on your own.

I carried everything with my HUCKEPACKS Phoenix Lite backpack, and used an Anfibio Rebel 2K Packraft and the Wave paddle. I paddled around 5 km, and hiked around 10 km. On the 2nd day I paddled in 10 m/s wind from the side, which was quite a challenge.
