Anton Pavlovich Chekhov was a Russian writer, playwright and physician, who was born in 1860 and died in 1904. He is one of those lucky authors who is not only admired, but also read. His plays are staged on stages all over the world, his works receive new life in film and television - film adaptations, radio plays, painting, music, ballet. For this, in the words of Leo Tolstoy, “Pushkin in prose” helped us to look truthfully at ourselves - which, according to Anton Pavlovich himself, is the best incentive for self-improvement of a person, in whom, as the writer sacredly believed, “everything should be beautiful”.
