Here at Texas Center for oral surgery and dental implants, our goal is for every implant that we place to last forever. So the great thing about dental implants is they don't get cavities and they don't break. But they can develop gum disease. So, when implants fail, typically it's because the implant itself has developed gum disease which has lead to inflammation and bone loss.

When the bone melts away from a dental implant just like it can from teeth, the implant can sometimes be lost. When implants become diseased, there are a few different options for managing that issue. As a specialist in oral surgery, we see patients from all walks of life who have had implants from various providers over the years that present to our office with ailing and failing implants.

The options available to treat those implants depend on the specifics of each case, but it ranges from a minor procedure to try to eliminate inflammation in the area all the way up to removal of the failed implant with potential bone graft surgery to regrow the bone that may have been lost, and then eventually replacement of the implant in the site.
Here at Texas Center for Oral Surgery & Dental Implants we have the skills and expertise to help patients with ailing and failing implants. We can help you treat your disease, get another implant in that area, and get back to life.
