DAY 3 VMM 70KM RACE DAY. NEVER ASPECT IT WILL BE BRUTAL HIKE AND MUDDY.

3 trail in 3 continuing trail race in 3 month will be insane for me.

I am newbie to trail race as I mostly do road run.

The reason I change to trail run because of the nature.

Back in 2019, I sign up VMM and it was postpone due to pendemic.

I never though 70km was an Ultra Trail Marathon and only for experience runner.

With no experience and lack of training/millage, here how I plan the race.

July enter Cultra Cameron in Malaysia 30km as warm up and millage. (tea plantation)

Aug enter Ultra Trail Chiang Mai 65km as training/millage.(maze plantation)

Sept enter Vietnam Mountain Marathon Ultra 70km. (padi plantation)

Last trail race VMM was really brutal and never gave us a chance to rest.

HIKE never ending and down very steps too. Muddy make life more difficult and slow us down.


I fell countless time until I damage my mobile phone. (RIP)

I become phobe went down even with my pole. Really went super slow when go down slope with alots of muddy area.

MY race ended at CP6 DNF due to never made the COT. (Distance was approximately 53km.)

I was little sad and disappointed as my leg still able to continue if gave a chance.

I accept it as DNF and it was not end of the world as there will be more race in future waiting to explore.

I treat this as lesson and gain experience, will work hard and will be back stronger next race.
