i've seen different Ninpo organizations almost brag about their "randori" ( which basically means sparring or a training with somebody who's fighting back giving you some resistance) and either it's really nonexistent or their examples of it are laughable I hesitate to show some video examples because I don't wish to make people feel bad.

One thing that makes Jissenkan what it is is that we pressure test everything I mean come on the environment you're going to use this and is a very pressurized environment somebody's gonna be fighting for their life really trying to hurt you and if all you've ever done is compliant training you're in for a very rude awakening.

Here is an example of the slowest lowest level version of randori that we do. This is in the curriculum for our very first grade.

I always say what's true is true you can see the same thing in Buddhism that I'm speaking about . Kata training (prearranged training which is very important) and randori (capturing chaos).

in Buddhism you can get pretty peaceful sitting on your meditation cushion in a dimly lit room with the incense burning the candles going but how are you and where is your peace perspective and wisdom when you haven't eaten all day you're at the end of a long day at work and you're in rush-hour traffic with everybody speeding and cutting you off ? That's the environment you're training for!

It's the same in martial arts! The proof is in the pudding, it is in the doing...
