Welcome to my latest vlog! A joyful, food-filled, art-loving, soul-refreshing summer getaway to Chicago! Whether you’re planning your first visit or just love watching feel-good travel content, this vlog is packed with iconic stops, hidden gems, and heartfelt moments that will inspire you to explore, connect, and enjoy the beauty around you.
We started our journey flying into Midway Airport, and then hopped on the train for a true local experience into the heart of the city. From there, we checked into a stunning Airbnb that felt like a peaceful escape in the middle of all the Chicago action. You’ll get a tour of the Airbnb in the vlog — perfect if you’re looking for a cute, affordable spot for your next trip.
Day one kicked off with breakfast at Honey Bear Cafe, a cozy and charming brunch spot that set the tone for a great start. From there, we explored Millennium Park — home of The Bean (Cloud Gate), the famous Crown Fountain, and a splash pad where kids and families were cooling off and having fun. The weather was beautiful, and the energy of the city was contagious!
We went on a guided city tour, taking in Chicago’s incredible architecture and skyline. The buildings were simply breathtaking — every corner told a story, and you’ll see how the art, structure, and history all come together to create something unforgettable.
We visited the iconic five-story Starbucks Reserve Roastery. While the drinks didn’t hit at first, the staff was super kind and remade them — a reminder that great customer service makes all the difference.
We soaked up creative inspiration at the Museum of Contemporary Art, where unique and powerful artwork stirred the soul. And speaking of soul — we got a taste of it at a live gospel concert in the city. The atmosphere was electric, and the presence of God was undeniable. Truly a spiritual highlight of the trip.
You know we had to try Giordano’s deep dish pizza — thick, cheesy, and everything they say it is. 10/10 recommend if you’re in Chicago and craving the city’s most famous dish.
We also made our way to Chinatown, where we tried the viral fruit ice cream, explored stores filled with authentic snacks, and enjoyed vibrant cultural experiences.
For dinner, we hit Wilma’s BBQ downtown — hands down one of the best food spots in the city. The soul rolls? To die for. If you’re a foodie, this is a must.
A spontaneous trip to TJ Maxx blessed me with two amazing Sand & Fog perfume oils — love finding hidden gems! Then we grabbed Chicago’s famous popcorn, snapped tons of fun and artsy pictures, and continued to explore the city’s vibrant street art, murals, and sculptures. It’s everywhere — and it’s beautiful.
Last but not least, we had a sweet ending with a stop at Firecakes Donuts for a mini mukbang. Their donuts and cookies were delicious. We also gave Harold’s Chicken a try — it was okay, but you can’t say you’ve been to Chicago without trying it!
This trip was full of life, laughter, food, art, and faith — and I’m so excited to share it all with you.
