This is the ultimate vegan version of McDonald's classic McChicken sandwich & the simplest and easiest ever vegan chicken sandwich recipe out there (written recipe below)! There are many videos on how to make McChicken at home, but I found that their breading and batter don't look right. So in this video, I not only perfectly nail the crispy layer of batter super easily but also make our fried vegan chicken even more crispy and flavorful than the real stuff.

Vegan McChicken Sandwich recipe:

Ingredients (batter enough for 4 servings):
Firm/extra firm tofu
Sesame buns
Lettuce
Batter:
-1 cup all purpose flour
-1 cup cornstarch
-1 tsp baking powder
-1/3 tbsp celery salt (/salt + celery powder)
-1 tsp smoked paprika
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
-1/2 tsp onion powder
-1/2 tsp ground black pepper
-1/2 tsp ground white pepper
-1/2 tsp mustard paste
-1/2 tsp turmeric powder
-1/2 tsp MSG
Sparkling water
Sauce:
-1/2 cup vegan mayo
-1/2 tsp mustard paste
Garlic & onion powders

Method:
1. Press the tofu until dry and very firm.
2. Throughly mix all the flours and spices and make the thick batter. Get a plate of adequate all purpose flour on the side.
3. Make the sauce & shred the lettuce.
4. Cut the tofu into patty sized pieces.
5. Heat up adequate oil in a pot.
6. Coat the tofu pieces in the all purpose flour, dip it into the wet batter, and repeat.
7. Deep fry the tofu until each side is perfectly golden.
8. Get it out, sprinkle some salt and let it cool. Repeat.
9. Microwave the buns for 20 seconds, assemble.
