Los Angeles Fire Department resources were dispatched to the 300 block of north Fairfax Avenue for a reported structure fire. First arriving companies found a one-story row of commercial occupancies with smoke showing. Firefighters initially went into an offensive posture, but were later ordered by the IC to switch into a defensive posture. Master streams were put in place to extinguish the fire from the outside and above. It took 90 firefighters 77 minutes to extinguish the fire, which consumed two vacant businesses. The exposed businesses were undamaged. No injuries reported. Cause is under investigation.
