Calvin on the "A and E Waltz": "I heard the 'A & E Waltz' back in the 1970s from a fiddler names Art Lindstrom from Prince George. His nickname was 'Fingers'. Maybe because he played fiddle with only two fingers, maybe there's another reason, I'm not sure? Anyways, he played it very slowly and all single notes and it was very pretty. Art told me he learned it from a piano player. I was a teenager when I first heard it and learned it. Sometimes when I play it, I'll add some double stops. It was a different kind of waltz than what we grew up with in Canada, but I loved it. Jump ahead to about 2005 and I met Charlie Walden, a fiddler from the mid-west. He said he knew the tune and that it was played in his circles by maybe a fiddler name Cyril Stinnett."
