There are so many reasons why your ballot may not be counted, even though you mailed it days or even weeks ago, and THERE IS STILL TIME FOR YOU TO VOTE IN PERSON.

Check your voter history on the State Board of Elections website https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/

There may have been an accidental typo or missing info on your application, such as a missing witness or even just an issue with the photocopy of your ID. Since there are only a few hours left in the election, there's no time to correct any issues, and you'll need to vote in person.

Check to ensure your ballot was ACCEPTED. Scroll down to the YOUR BALLOT section on the NCSBoE website. If you don't see that, go ahead and vote in your election day precinct (which can be found in the YOUR VOTING LOCATIONS section).

Of note, if your absentee ballot has been received and accepted, yet you attempt to vote in person, this will show on your voter record during the check-in process at your polling place and you will not be able to vote again. And during the canvass period, in the days immediately following the election, there is a reconciliation of all ballots. Should your absentee ballot arrive and be processed, it will be retrieved and cancelled. No one can vote twice.
