“Vengeance Is Mine” is a dark outlaw country Thursday morning Bible study scene set in Weston Auto. When Jimmy Dale questions what he has been told about the “last days,” Colton gently directs him back to Scripture (LSB). Through Deuteronomy 32, Romans 12:19, Hebrews 10:30, 1 Corinthians 7:26 and 10:11, and Revelation 11:8 — interpreted through Isaiah and Jeremiah — the song shows that the “last days” spoken of in the New Testament referred to the last days of Old Covenant Israel, not the end of the Christian age.
