CANNING SWEET CHERRIES:
Wash cherries and remove stems. Fill jars to almost the neck with cherries. Make a syrup of water and sugar. (I use around 1/2 cup of sugar to 2 quarts of water.) Fill jars to the neck with the water/sugar mixture. Can using your canning method of choice. (I cold-packed mine for 10 minutes in a hot water bath.)

CANNING GREEN BEANS:
Wash beans and cut off the stems. Put in jars. Add 1 Zinc tablet, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Fill with water to the neck of the jars. Can using your canning preference. (I cold packed mine in a hot water bath for 1 hour)

BLACKBERRY JELLY:
5 cups blackberry juice
1 pack low sugar Fruit Pectin
4-5 cups Evaporated Cane Sugar
1 teaspoon butter (to keep from foaming)
Boil the above mixture for 1 minute. (be careful so it doesn't boil over!)
Put in jars and can. (I cold packed mine in a hot water bath for 10 minutes)

CUCUMBERS:
* The bread and butter pickle recipe will be in my sister Marlene's cookbook, coming soon!

FREEZER PICKLES:
6 cups sliced cucumbers
1 cup thinly sliced onions
1 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon celery seed

Mix vinegar, sugar, water, salt, and celery seed in a saucepan and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Pour over the cucumbers and onions. Stir. These pickles will last for a few weeks in the fridge. They can also be frozen.

BUTTERHORNS:
Mix together:
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
Beat in 3 eggs and 1 cup water. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Add:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 cups flour
Knead well. Cover and set in fridge overnight.
The next day, divide the dough into 2 parts. Roll each part into a 12" circle. Cut into 16 wedges. Roll each wedge up, starting with the wide end. Put in a greased pan. Let rise for 3-4 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Brush with butter.
