The European Commission's research programmes provide the means for collaboration between different partners in different European Countries and internationally. The bringing together of those partners in our funded projects enable the consortia to advance science and other achievements more rapidly than if done in a single institution or bilaterally.

The partners of a consortium can address the whole innovation chain from discovery to application in the healthcare service. Our programmes are open to partners from any country in the world, while some of the partners will bring their own financing.

Personalised medicine places the citizen at the front and centre. It looks at the individual's molecular profile, environment and lifestyle to decide what prevention, diagnostic and treatment strategy will work best. This approach, which integrates information from multiple sources, can make healthcare smarter, better and more cost-effective.
