Halima Athman is a single mother of five children. She was born into a poor background and never got to see her mother while she was young. She was told that her mother had passed away when she was still too young to remember.

Halima grew up in Nakuru and later married a Gusii man who, at first, loved her. However, his demeanor changed when she became pregnant with their first child. He grew increasingly rude and started mistreating her in unimaginable ways. She struggled through her marriage until one day, she refused to give in to his demands—demands that were not right within their marriage. Enraged, her husband decided to marry another woman and brought her into their house.

Shockingly, Halima was tasked with planning the wedding of her husband’s second wife. Since she was an orphan and had no home to return to, the man took advantage of her vulnerability and moved his new wife into their matrimonial bed. Seeing this, Halima made the painful decision to leave with her young children.

Her life became extremely difficult. Forced into the streets with her children, she had nowhere to sleep, and to make matters worse, she was pregnant with her third child. Life in the streets was brutal, pushing her to a desperate point where she resorted to selling her body just to get food for her children. In search of better opportunities, she moved to Mombasa, hoping to find greener pastures. But Mombasa proved to be even more ruthless than Nakuru. Here, she encountered men of all kinds—some who exploited her to the fullest.

Despite all she endured, Halima’s focus remained on securing a better future for her children. Eventually, she left Mombasa at an older age when she realized her children were beginning to lose faith in her. She returned to Nakuru, determined to turn her life around. She reformed from all the hardships and struggles she had endured and chose to turn to God.

Today, she stands as a living testimony, inspiring many who hear her story. Through her journey, people learn valuable lessons about resilience, survival, and the power of transformation.
