The Social Housing White Paper introduced a new set of Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs) that are intended to both provide tenants with information on how their landlord is performing and provide information to the Regulator of Social Housing about compliance with proactive consumer standards.
Social housing providers will be expected to start collecting data on these from April 2023. There are 22 measures in total covering:
Keeping properties in good repair
Maintaining building safety
Respectful and helpful engagement
Effective handling of complaints
Responsible neighbourhood management
Overall satisfaction

12 of the measures will ask specific questions about tenants’ perception of the services provided and their level of satisfaction or disaffection with that service. This will be carried out by a survey and housing providers will have to make the results available to tenants.

This webinar was delivered by Debbie Larner, formerly Head of Professional Practice at the Chartered Institute of Housing, and looked at the measures in detail, how the measures will be collected and the outcomes you should expect to see from your landlord.
