Faceoff Over 'One Nation, One Law' Intensifies | AIMPLB Backs 'Own UCC Draft' | Nation Wants To Know

In this episode of Nation Wants To Know, host Madhavdas Gopalakrishnan will discuss how a day after Prime Minister Modi made a persuasive argument for the adoption of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in India, a political controversy ensued. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed support for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) concept amid the rekindled debates around it in front of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Sandeep Pathak, the head of the AAP, stated that while the party "in principle" supports the UCC, its implementation must come after more extensive deliberation with all parties. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh (UP) has given his response on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Sanjay Singh said that his party wants to support UCC but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not put any draft in front of the country regarding this. BJP's aim is not to pass UCC but only to do politics on this issue. If BJP's aim was to implement it, then their government would not have been sleeping for 9 years. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. “The fathers of our nation who laid the Constitution have directed us to implement the UCC,” stated RP Singh, BJP National Spokesperson.
