Doing "I'm not sorry for loving you" was such an interesting thing
I was trying to balance the sympathy and also realising the emotional manipulation. Penelope is the voice of reason!!!
And yes, this song was the emotional manipulation
It was good representation of how one may feel about unrequited love, but also the wording was emotional manipulation. I'm not saying anyone who relates to this song is one, but the song itself was
Maybe she wasn't realising it. Maybe. But how i already mentioned this in the video through Penelope, she was shifting the blame to Odysseus. She was loving him so much, she did nothing wrong, so why he didn't love her back?
There's a difference between
"Sorry, I didn't realise that something I did, made you feel this way"
and
"Sorry that something I did made you feel this way"
The first one is admitting, hey, I fucked up, I'll try to not let it happen again.
The second is like, sorry i spilled the milkshake on you and you were sad because of it. You were supposed to laugh
The "not sorry for loving you" part i have no problem with. It is perfectly reasonable for one to feel
But overall this song gives "I'm sorry you didnt accept my love, even though you repeatedly said you have wife, but its your fault for not accepting it"
And Calypso may feel genuinely apologetic but I think it's about the wrong. It's not about her actions alone, she didn't regret pushing him too far, no. It's about the outcome. She would keep doing this if she wasn't forced to stop (because Ody was obviously leaving)
She kept doing this for 7 years. Now she had to let go, she feels regret how he didn't love her back
Actually there's a reference I saw lately that kinda gives my point of view
If someone keeps stealing from you and you caught them and they start to apologise, is it true apology? Or because this time they didn't succeed??
Istg I rambled so much and I just hope I gave my poin of view correctly
So yeah, Calypso is a victim, but also the abuser. First doesn't exclude second
And as a Jorge said, she is a child trapped in adults body, but a child who is capable of understanding the word "no" but clearly ignoring this.

Do y'all even realise how hard is to choose an animatic/animation for those???
I was literally switching between two videos of Dangerous for good 10 minutes until I decided on the Orange's one
But it was so hard broooo
~~~
Also I'm absolutely loving how you can see in Charybdis the part of Odysseus' sharp mind. He immediately recognises the threat and soon after he already has a tactic to deal with it. I really hope i did Odysseus some of justice foreshadowing how he will do something because yknow, he is also planning how to deal with those dangers
~~~
Also fun fact
I did take my driver exam in between like the last bit which did contribute to losing my track of time lmaooo
But if anyone's wondering, I did pass
~~~
Also
I have no idea if I did any justice with the ending???
Like, It was so hard
It was also inspired by the leaks of Ithaca Saga and "Would you love me again?" Where Penelope says something similar to the "don't tell me you're not the same person, you're my husband and I'll always love you"
And also by the very same person who posts all the leaks with theirs "you're home, changed, but still loved"
Penelope doesn't see a monster. She sees a changed man who is her husband
~~~
Another fun fact
Originally i was planning on having two 600 strikes, but in the end I gave up.
The second was supposed to be with Gods but I felt like I could really make them out of Character??? And I didnt want to
Maybe ill just do a half part and have them react alone just to it
Also, I really like the idea of Penelope's thoughts being the last ones as we shift towards to Ithaca Saga
And as we know Penelope's motif is gonna start it, I think it would be really nice to make Odysseus have the first thing to say/think in Ithaca Saga
Like, Odysseus is saying the "next to my wife" and Penelope think about it, and then Penelope has her own moment and Odysseus thinks about her. They're soulmates :))
~~
I wonder if anyone is gonna catch the Penelope's motif at the end
It's quiet enough that I have to have my headphones almost full volume and on my phone to even hear anything my volume is more than usual lol
