Prof. Dr. Holger Thiele - Direktor der Universitätsklinik für Kardiologie am Herzzentrum Leipzig der Universität Leipzig und Präsident der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Kardiologie - stellt die zentralen Ergebnisse seiner ECLS-SHOCK und CAVA-ADHF Studien vor. Beide Studien wurden beim Jahreskongress der European Society of Cardiology präsentiert; ECLS-SHOCK wurde parallel im New England Journal of Medicine publiziert.
ECLS-SHOCK untersuchte, ob Patienten kardiogenem Schock bei akutem Myokardinfarkt vom Einsat von ECLS ("Extracorporeal life support") ergänzend zur Standardtherapie profitieren.
CAVA-ADHF untersuchte die prognostische Bedeutung regelmäßiger Sonographien der Vena cava inferior bei Patienten mit akuter kardialer Dekompensation.
