History nerds, especially on YouTube, have made a cottage industry out of picking apart the historical inaccuracies of Hollywood movies. In this video, I respond to Brandon F's recent video series about the notoriously inaccurate Mel Gibson Revolutionary War film The Patriot, and give my two cents about why history nerds should maybe chill out a bit when criticizing historical fiction. The "it's just a movie" congregation needs a preacher, so I am taking the pulpit.
