Stone Mountain Falls, located in the picturesque Stone Mountain State Park in North Carolina, is a stunning waterfall that plunges 200 feet down a granite cliff. Two different parking lots provide access to the 4.5-mile loop, with the upper trailhead parking lot being the closest to the falls. It is important to note that there is a fairly large set of stairs that needs to be navigated to get down to the falls and back up to the upper trailhead parking lot. The hike to the falls offers a rewarding experience with lush forests, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. The best views of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be enjoyed at the top of the dome rather than at the falls. The water, originating from the pristine creeks in the park, cascades gracefully over the rocky precipice, creating a serene and refreshing atmosphere. At the bottom of the falls, there is a decent-sized pool where guests can dip their toes during the warmer months.
