The researchers from University of Newcastle in Australia have printed electronic materials on a FlexiCoat coating platform.

Yet another discovery made by scientists at the University of Newcastle, a pain-free blood sugar test for diabetics.

The “holy grail” for diabetic blood sugar testing came to light by embedding an enzyme that detects glucose directly into a transistor. The electronic materials being all inks, these transistors were printed (at a low cost) on a large scale on the GM FlexiCoat roll-to-roll coating platform.

Professor Paul Dastoor, Physicist and research leader at the University of Newcastle, says that “sensors can be printed at remarkably low cost because they can be manufactured using simple printing techniques.”
