Many thoughts and fears ran through my mind during the flight to Barbados from Jacksonville, Fla. Will my husband and I finally become parents? Is this going to be a painful process? Was this all a waste of time and money?

Many of my fears melted away as we stepped foot on the Caribbean island. Its palm trees and turquoise water brought me peace. While there, I underwent several scans, the egg retrieval process and embryo transfer. Did we see success?
