She sings mainly Rabindra Sangeet, Panchakobi’r gan, Nazrul Sangeet. She has completed her honors on music from "Bulbul Lolitokola Academy (BAFA)" and Masters from "shanto mariam university of creative technology". She is working at Bulbul Lolitokola Academy (BAFA) as a music teacher. She also works for “Shadhona - A Center For Advancement Of South Asian Culture”. From the age of six she started training in Tagore Songs. Susmita is one of the most popular and cherished Rabindra Sangeet artists from the recent times.
