This CPD provides specifiers with a clear understanding of what UK certification schemes are applicable to the projects they are working on. The CPD will cover the certification schemes that show compliance to regulations covering England and Wales (the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999) and the current Scottish Byelaws (the Water Supply (Water Fittings) (Scotland) Byelaws 2014), as well as regulations applying in Northern Ireland, the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009.

At the end of this CPD, you will understand the following:
• Understand the difference between different UK approval schemes
• Understand what approval schemes are applicable to UK water regulations
• Understand the process of testing to attain approvals and certifications
• Understand who is responsible for meeting water regulations
• Overview of resources to help specifiers find approved products.

Stephanie Allchurch, Product Development Manager

Stephanie has over 20 years’ experience in the in the industry, having worked for various manufacturers of plumbing and heating controls. She currently holds the position of New Product Development Manager at Altecnic. She has also been an active member of the HWA for over 10 years, providing technical insight to form the basis on standards, legislation, and guidance. In 2022 Stephanie was appointed Chair of the HWA, and currently serves as Vice President/Treasurer for the EUA.
