A Missed Opportunity on Gilmore Girls

Описание к видео A Missed Opportunity on Gilmore Girls

This is a video about the Life & Death Brigade from Gilmore Girls.

Life & Death Brigade History: This society is modeled after real Ivy League secret societies, including Yale's Skull and Bones and Oxford's Dangerous Sports Club. The society was established in the 1800's but we don't get an exact date. Doyle says that no one on the newspaper has been able to confirm their existence. They know they exist, but they don't know they exist

Members: the main members of the society (as presented to us on the show) are Logan, Colin and Finn. There's also Robert, who is awesome. We also have Stephanie (gorilla mask girl), Jillian, and Rosemary.

Mystery surrounding the society: I loved the introduction of the Life and Death Brigade. It looked very different. I liked the idea that Rory would have to investigate and figure out what this society is. We find out about the society really quickly. I liked the episode with the Life and Death Brigade camping event but we don't see any more of them.

AYITL: The L&D Brigade resurges in the revival with an homage to Across the Universe. I absolutely love the sequence. It does take up a lot of screen time, which upsets some fans. Although it doesn't provide much in terms of character development or character conclusions, I enjoyed watching it.

Criticisms: The main criticisms of the L&D Brigade is that (1) It is privileged and spoiled and (2) It is "lame," "boring," and/or "cringy." I personally don't think it's any of these things. It is tame, but I think that's due to the fact that Gilmore Girls had to be a family friendly show and the show probably did not have the budget to film crazy L&D Brigade events.
