Hey guys, welcome back to KnifeHog.com! Addison here and today I’ll be reviewing the Buck Tops Short Nighthawk.

The Nighthawk has an overall length of 10.37”, a blade length of 4.8” and weighs approximately 9.4 ounces. The blade is constructed of 420HC steel and features a hollow ground edge with a clip point tip. The handle is composed of black rubber overmold and features a generous finger guard. A black nylon sheath, with an extra pocket for storage, also comes included with this knife. The sheath is also MOLLE compatible.

Overall, the Nighthawk is an excellent tactical, combat and outdoor field knife. Its large size, hollow ground edge, decent blade steel, textured handle and sheath make this knife perfect for use at a campsite or in the field. Although 420HC is not a very high quality steel, it works quite well on this knife and is capable of cutting and chopping through things like branches, thick clothing, rope, paracord and thin metal. The rubber overmold material fitted on the handle provides your hand with a firm yet comfortable grip while you’re delivering forceful cuts. The sheath that comes with this knife is extremely comfortable when strapped to your leg or belt and, due to the fact that it’s MOLLE compatible, proves to be extremely versatile out in the field. Honestly, there is not one bad thing I have to say about this knife and give it a perfect score of 5 out of 5 stars.
