Why You Trip Out, Get Angry & Depressed: You Have No Joy in God | Church 8/28/16

Sunday, August 28, 2016 - Church with Jesse Lee Peterson - http://rebuildingtheman.com/church - People lack joy today. The Apostle Paul said to "rejoice in the Lord." Some men and boys Jesse spoke with could not accept that you should not have sex before marriage. They are addicted to sex. They will be bad fathers, bad husbands, likely have children out-of-wedlock, and likely cheat on their wives if they get married.

People who should love and unite together instead hate and divide from one another. Jesse sets an example by discussing disagreements with people, yet still going away friends. Tell the truth — but don’t be angry.

A woman asked Jesse to define joy. He said that a person with joy is not inwardly moved by the world, but has joy when alone in quiet, at a party, at work, when life is tough. A man said that most people pursue “having fun” (or worldly success) but utterly lack joy.

Jesse had a woman read from Job chapter 1, verses 1 through 21, telling the story of a man of God whose family Satan killed, who suffered loss of health and possessions, but he never lost faith in God. Other people trip out, commit suicide, stop believing in God, get into sin, get counseling & therapy, take medication, drugs, and get drunk.
